Our story
With a family history that includes boat builders in Brixham and coach builders and wheelwrights in Plymouth, Jason – who trades as Copper Thumb Projects – is thoroughly at home with wood. He has spent a lifetime working with wood on historic houses, building staircases, creating hand-made doors and handles, and producing one-off pieces of furniture.
Sally Jo trained as an illustrator and designer, and worked in London producing children's books, cards and textile designs. On moving to Devon she took up garden design and floristry. She now also works with her daughter Jessica at Vanilla Sky bespoke cakes and runs a successful country cottage Airbnb.
After years of working for other people, Jason and Sally Jo now have the opportunity to exhibit their combined passions and skills in Flotsam 50’s artisan showroom.
